Irish Superstition Wedding Tradition
Irish has many superstitions on their wedding. Some of they such as they believe that lucky will come to the couple if on the wedding day the sun is shinny, or they hear a cuckoo or see three magpies in the wedding morning, or the bride carries a horseshoes at her wedding, or do not meet funeral procession on the way to wedding, or accidentally the wedding dress tear on wedding day, or the bride and the groom take different roads to wedding and they should leave together on the same road because it symbolize their two separate lives coming together as one. The others thing which bring luck for the couple if the groom throw a handful of coins into the crowd, or if a man who should be the first to kiss the bride congratulations (not the woman), or before the dinner an oatmeal cake was broken over the bride’s head. Dance with the strawboys will bring a good luck for the bride. The luck also would come if on the arrival at their new home the groom was to throw a bottle of whiskey into the air but it had to be spin three times in the air and break on the ground at the third spin. Bringing a birthstone into engagement ring will also bring good luck. The earrings that wear not only bring good luck but also happiness ever after. And if the couple looks at the sun when leaving their wedding, it believes that their children will be beautiful.
