Indian wedding has some rituals need to be done, such as Saat Phere, Kanyadaan, Mangalsutra, Solah Shringar, Wedding Barat, Wedding Feast, and Wedding Games. Saat Phere or Seven Vows is seven promises which is uttered as circling sacred fire. Kanyadaan means the gift of a girl which is considered very sacred ritual and dutiful act. Mangalsutra is scared thread of love made of string of small black beads with golden/diamond pendant symbolize the successful marriage which worn by married women. It is tied by the groom onto bride’s neck as a promise to live with his wife forever and believed that it protect the couple from evil powers. Solah Shringar is sixteen beautification treatments of the bride where almost all parts of her body cover with sixteen types of accessories. Wedding Baraat is a procession of music and dance that proceeds from groom’s place towards wedding venue and the groom seated on a decorated horse or elephant accompanied by his siblings’ or cousins. The Wedding feast reflects the religion and environmental location of the couples and it consists of appetizers, main course meal, and deserts. The Wedding Games creates the festive of wedding which brings a lot of fun, joy, essence to the whole affairs, and also sense of unity and understanding between newlywed couples and then bring both families closer to each other. Some of the games are Hiding the Shoes, Pillow Talk, Fishing the Ring and Unknot Knotted String.
